The results are in and it turns out Charleston is still pretty great.
The city once again finished near the top of Conde Nast Travelers magazine’s reader’s choice awards, which were released last week. This year the Holy City is No.3, behind San Francisco and New York.
At the same time, some similarly intersting and inane statistics were realeased by the folks at Travel & Leisure magazine: the results of its online survey to find “America’s Favorite City.” The magazine asked people to rank 25 U.S. destinations in a disparate bunch of categories, from BBQ to clubbing, luxury-boutique shopping to underground arts scene.
Charleston was found to have the friendliest people people. And it finished No.2 for shopping, second only to New York. Charleston also grabbed second for architecture and notable buildings, antiques, and pedestrian-friendliness. The city finished No.3 in the “Attractive People” category.
