Charleston, also known as “The Holy City,” is well-known for its history unique culture, and architecture. Charleston is the oldest and second largest city in South Carolina. The downtown peninsula is popular for its art, music, local cuisine, nightlife and fashion. Charleston’s local seafood plays a key role in the city’s cuisine and southern tradition. You’ll also find horse-drawn carriages along the cobblestone streets with cars and rickshaws carrying visitors to its popular destinations. Tourism is among the main contributors to a strong local economy, as Charleston is annually among the nation’s most visited cities, as well as being an enormously popular wedding destination. The city is the site of several significant historical sites pertaining to both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, including Fort Sumter.
My favorite spot for a quick bite – Hominy Grill & for seafood – Hanks
