The town of James Island was formed in 1993. James Island is surrounded by the Charleston Harbor, Wappoo Cut, the Stono River, and the Folly River and connected to Charleston by the James Island connector. The town is known for it’s laid back lifestyle and community feeling. Residents of James Island are surrounded by tidal creeks and marshland and just a short drive from Folly Beach. Local “James Islanders” say they wouldn’t trade their way of life for anywhere else.
My favorite spot for a quick bite: Black Bean Co. & for seafood: Bowen’s Island Restaurant
