Night Sky Over Folly Beach

Last night  I headed out to shoot the Milky Way but it was just a bit to cloudy.  I still managed to come away with a pretty cool image of palmetto trees and the stars as I was walking back to my car.  I can’t tell you how many times the image I didn’t set out to get becomes one of my favorites.

3rd Edition of Wild Dunes Condos under $400k

7B1A6400Condo prices in Wild Dunes have been on a gradual rise, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find something for under $400,000.  Now, to be clear, you won’t find the oceanfront mansion you have been dreaming of, but you will be able to find a condo on or near the beach with a pool.

Searching today I found a total of 10 condos for sale.  Most are one bedroom units, but I did find two with at least 2 bedrooms.  Asking prices range from $337,500 for a one bedroom unit in The Village at Wild Dunes to $4oo,000 for a 2 bedroom unit in Yacht Harbor.  Your closest to the beach options would be Mariners Walk and Port O’ Call,  and your closest to the heart of Wild Dunes would be The Village at Wild Dunes.  If you need more than one bedroom, you should consider Lagoon Villas or something on the backside like Yacht Harbor.

To save you the time, here is a list of the 10 condos for sale.  Obviously these numbers and listings can change as fast as I can type, so feel free to contact me if you read this at a later time.

Image of the Week – Winter in the Lowcountry

Earlier in the week as I was on my way out to Folly Beach I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful rays shinning through the clouds from above.  I had my camera with me and decided to find a great spot to capture the amazing sky with a great foreground subject.  One thing that makes up the Charleston Lowcountry is it’s shrimp boats and beautiful marsh settings so I decided to pull over to Crosby’s Fish and Shrimp for my capture.  Anyone from the area knows this is a spot on almost any given day you will find someone with a camera. Of course there is good reason, the view looking out is simply breathtaking.  But as someone who has shot many times from this site, it takes the special moments for me to stop .  The sunrays shining through the clouds with the combination of the shrimp boat made it worth it.   Have a great weekend!  Looks like it’s going to be a nice one. Ready for Spring in the Lowcountry

7B1A7409Who else is ready for spring and warmer weather?  Don’t get me wrong, usually around November I look forward to a cooler, less humid climate, but after a few days of cold weather all I can think of is spring.  I know I shouldn’t complain, because winter months in the Charleston Lowcountry really aren’t that harsh, says the person living in Minnesota. But once you live here long enough, your blood becomes thin and 40 degrees might as well be below ZERO.

Maybe it is just today on this cold morning, but I spent about an hour going through old photos trying to warm up with a cup of joe.  It won’t be long before the marsh grass turns green and blends in beautifully with the blue Carolina sky.  Until then I leave you with this Summer 2015 throwback……
