There were 10 closed brokerage sales for $15.6 million in June, 2011 versus 13 for $18.5 million in June, 2010.

Year to date, there have been 53 closings for $84.6 million vs 49 for $98.8 million last year.

Through June, the price of the average sale was $798,264 vs. $1 million last year.

Wild Dunes

There were 11 closed brokerage sales for $21.5 million in June, 2011 versus 3 for $3 million in 2010. Year to date there have been 50 closings for $62.4 million vs. 35 for $52.2 million last year.

Through June, the price of the average sale was $624,180 versus $745,114 last year.

According to a survey conducted by Travel + Leisure Magazine it’s Charleston. The survey found that the most attractive people typically live in areas of warm climate and areas where you find lots or recreation.

This just adds to Charleston’s growing list of accolades including; most polite city (Conde Naste), one of America’s best business city and also one of the smartest cities (Forbes).

All great reasons to make Charleston your home!

Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse

The Lighthouse on Sullivan’s Island was the last major lighthouse built by the federal government. The 163 foot

lighthouses triangular shape allows it to withstand winds up to 125 miles per hour. It was first used in 1962 and had one of the brightest lights in the western hemisphere.

There were nine closed brokerage sales for $20.9 million in May, 2011 versus seven for $13.3 million in May, 2010.

Year to date, there have been 41 closings for $67.4 million vs. 35 for $79.4 million last year.

Through May, the price of the average sale was $822,122 vs. $1.134 million last year.

Wild Dunes

There were nine closed brokerage sales for $8.2 million in May, 2011 versus eight for $10.7 million in 2010. Year to date there have been 38 closings for $40.5 million vs. 31 for $48.4 million last year.

Through May, the price of the average sale was $532,303 versus $780,677 last year.
